Finished Bullgryn!

Thats right, one finished bullgryn. Just the one mind you I don't want to overdo it. Have a look at the photos below. Without blowing my own trumpet, I really like it!

He's a mean looking fellow isn't he? I weathered the armour in the exact same way as I go my tanks as essentially his armour is all made from a tank.

I've kept to the same colours as the rest of the army with the standard colour trousers and white detail on the eagle and belt etc. The power maul has a light blue glaze in the recess too to jazz it up.

It's been a while since I've had the chance to do much freehand painting so I made the most of the little circle by painting a bull/skull hybrid. I'm really pleased with how it turned out and it was done in 10/15 minutes max.

So there you have it. One finished bullgryn! Also note I've started adding slate coloured stones to the bases too, it's all a part of the big update for the army that is in progress...

In the next post there will be more finished models!

Thanks

  1. I love this clean look. I know I also like the grimy look as well...well i like mini's, so everyone can just be happy. I like the skin tones, the clean fresh base, how sharp the lines are on the details. Very smooth work!

  3. Nice work mate - echoing Gregs comment, the skin tone is top notch, but that winged skull soldit - brilliantly crisp.

Was it possible with this kit to build the mini using the non armoured torso's of the normal Ogryns but use the Bullgryn mauls and shields? I've not been sold on the chest armour bits.

    1. Yeah the armour is totally optional, you could clip off the tank track part with ease if that was your main problem.

  4. Yeah that skin, far out. With those colours he really is a cross between your tanks and infantry - just like he should be. Beautiful free hand. And I really like that mask too. How many of these were planed again?
Pity only 4 can fit in a chimera now. Still, there new kit is nice.

    1. Thanks! The skin really does come up well in the photos. It's a unit of 5 and then of course Nork to protect the good colonel.
Sticking them in a chimera is a tricky one as they lose the ability to charge the turn they disembark. Stick them in a Gorgon?!

  5. He looks good, like his minder and his bone'ead spend their time keeping him and his brothers clean.

    1. Haha, it's a simple matter of spraying them down with the hose. The servitors that do so don't however last long.

  6. Ya know, I never really much liked the Bullgryn's, but yours does look darn good.

  7. Cracking result. A whole squad of five of these buggers will certainly make an impression on the battlefield.
