Tank stowage and base updates

Welcome the last of the posts I scheduled before I went away for a month. In this post I will share a few photos of the updating that is going on throughout the army, with a new base scheme and new tank stowage to keep them provisioned on the coming campaigns.

Here we have the first batch of troops which have been fully updated. We have 4 squads of 10 guardsmen, 3 AT teams, 3 mortar teams, 3 Thudd gun teams, Command HQ, 3 chimera and 1 Taurox. Additionally various characters like the techpriest and the Lord Commissar.

You can see that I've added lots of stones to the bases and painted them up in a gray slate colour to add an extra element to the army.

You can see two of the Chimera here, they have had all their lenses painted, sponge weathering applied and new stowage added to hulls and turrets.

The command section's chimera has all sorts of bags and packs strapped to it. You can see that the gun cowl for the heavy bolter has also been painted now too.

The Command HQ pictured here have had stones added. While only a little touch I think it really makes a difference and looks great.

Another photo of the chosen men.

Finally another photo of the new mortar teams.

Right, that's your lot for now. I'm back in the UK from 1st April and will look to get finishing the Baneblade as soon as I can!

Thanks for reading!

    1. Thanks, it's s kit also used by admiral drax and I got the idea from him. I'm trying to remember what It might be called. Drax any ideas? It has a dog on the sprue too...

I have a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y no idea what you're on about here, I'm afraid! I WISH I had a sprue that somehow combined both tank stowage and a dog! What else is on that sprue? - Fire? - Classical works of fiction? - Abstract concepts? - Weetabix?

You might like to try Zzzzzz, as I strongly suspect he has everysprueevercastforeverymodelever, but beyond that I'm afraid I cannot be any help.

    The models look pretty though...

    1. Haha! Don't tell me I've imagined the whole thing! Isn't the dog a regimental mascot of yours? The sprue is ochre if that helps! A blue and red logo on the box possibly! Ha! So many clues...

    2. ...If you EVER find a sprue with 15-28mm scale corgi on it, then do please let me know: that'd just about make my year!

  3. That little addition of gray to the base is enough to liven it up and add the little bit of extra interest.

Re the stowage I'd hazard a guess it's the 1/48 scale Tamiya stowage for German or American armour during WW2.

  4. The command chimera is fantastic. I really like how you've bitz'd it up to make it stand out!

  5. Gah, why can't I remember what the sprue was. I suspect muppet is right. Tamiya sounds likely. Google something like that and you'll find it with a dog on it too.

  6. Tamiya 1/35 modern US stowage has a dog on each sprue, which leaves one with two in a box. I have spare dogs if anyone needs one.
