Finished Imperial Navy Thunderbolt!

Finally, it's finished! Here are some photos, I'll have to take some better ones when I get the chance and add a few of the newer additions to the gallery.

  5. Thanks guys, I'm getting the same feeling I had with my macharius... How would a squadron of the look... That way lies financial ruin. I'm going to put this out there, Macharius vanquisher and thunderbolt are two of the best fw models. Maybe them and the marauder which I bloody love!

  8. That's beautiful dude. How'd you achieve that lovely worn desert camo on the fuselage?

    1. XV-88 the whole thing, might need two coats for coverage, nice and thin
      then reikland flesh shade
      dry brush xv-88
      drybrush balor brown
      drybrush ushabti bone
wash with a reikland flesh shade and nuln ink (2:1) watered down a bit.
Be sure to paint the wash on and don't let it settle in streaks or puddles, coat the whole thing but direct it. Also the drybrushing gets lighter the lighter the colour. If you want more depth you can fit in a stage between xv88 and balor by mixing 1:1

      Hope that helps!

  9. Cheers for the tutorial dude, it's almost exactly the effect I've been trying to achieve on mine, so I shall pop down the store tomorrow and grab the paints and give it a go. Will let you know how I get on! I've currently got a 10 man Praetorian squad drying on the painting station. Who knows, one day (after I've painted the 100 odd guardsmen!) your mechanised force might meet my expeditionary force down at an event.
